Radiative efficiency in radio-loud AGN is governed by the scaled accretion rate on to the central black hole rather than directly by the type of accreted matter; while it correlates with real physical differences, it does not give us unambiguous information about particular objects.

  1. When Jets Don't Quench: Near-Infrared H$_{2}$ in Star Forming Low-Excitation Radio Galaxies

    astro-ph.GA 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0

New Gemini/GNIRS observations of star-forming radio galaxies show warm H2 emission driven primarily by mergers rather than jets.

  2. A simulation-based analytic model of radio galaxies II: self-consistent radiative losses

    astro-ph.GA 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Including radiative losses in analytic models of high-redshift radio galaxies reduces predicted radio and X-ray luminosities compared to models that neglect them.

  3. Radio Galaxies and Jet Duty Cycles

    astro-ph.GA 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 2.0

The paper reviews radio galaxy physics and outlines SKA-enabled studies of jet duty cycles, episodic activity, and dying sources.
