We pioneer a systematic, large-scale lattice simulation of D0-brane quantum mechanics. The large-$N$ and continuum limits of the gauge theory are taken for the first time at various temperatures $0.4 \leq T \leq 1.0$. As a way to directly test the gauge/gravity duality conjecture we compute the internal energy of the black hole directly from the gauge theory and reproduce the coefficient of the supergravity result $E/N^2=7.41T^{14/5}$. This is the first confirmation of the supergravity prediction for the internal energy of a black hole at finite temperature coming directly from the dual gauge theory. We also constrain stringy corrections to the internal energy.

    quant-ph 2026-04 conditional novelty 8.0

First digital quantum simulation of SU(2) matrix model real-time dynamics on Quantinuum H2 using Loschmidt echo, with systematic error breakdown and modest post-selection gains.

  2. An effective field theory approach to the sign problem in BFSS

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0

The Pfaffian phase in BFSS becomes an O(9) pseudoscalar operator in a bosonic matrix integral, requiring 10-loop order in the high-T expansion before the sign problem is detectable in the 't Hooft regime.

  3. Bootstrapping Euclidean Two-point Correlators

    hep-th 2025-11 unverdicted novelty 7.0

A semidefinite programming bootstrap is formulated for Euclidean two-point correlators in quantum mechanics, yielding rigorous bounds and low-lying spectrum extraction in the ungauged one-matrix model.

  4. Negative heat capacities in spherically symmetric sectors of $d$-matrix quantum mechanics

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0

SO(d) and O(d) invariant sectors of d-matrix QM show negative microcanonical heat capacity that becomes positive at k_crit ~ N^2/4, forming a caloric fold similar to AdS black holes.

  5. Quantum spacetime and quantum fluctuations in the IKKT model at weak coupling

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0

In the IKKT matrix model, quantum fluctuations are negligible compared to noncommutativity scales at weak coupling for Moyal-Weyl and covariant quantum spacetime backgrounds, justifying semi-classical emergent geometry.
