abstract

These lectures review recent developments in our understanding of the emergence of local bulk physics in AdS/CFT. The primary topics are sufficient conditions for a conformal field theory to have a semiclassical dual, bulk reconstruction, the quantum error correction interpretation of the correspondence, tensor network models of holography, and the quantum Ryu-Takayanagi formula.

hep-th · 2026-05-18 · unverdicted · novelty 6.0 · 2 refs

Defects for discrete symmetries encoded in bordism groups Ω^ξ_2(BG) and H_2(BG;Z) are described as brane networks rather than isolated objects, extending the Cobordism Conjecture and demonstrated in 4d supergravity from string/M-theory.

Decoding the string in terms of holographic quantum maps

hep-th · 2025-09-16 · unverdicted · novelty 6.0

Stringy modes in 3D gravitational junctions map to factorized H_in to H_out and H_L to H_R quantum maps involving scattering matrices and relative Virasoro automorphisms in the dual CFT.

The yes boundaries wavefunctions of the universe

hep-th · 2026-04-11 · unverdicted · novelty 6.0

Using two timelike boundaries and a nearly maximally entangled thermofield double state from dressed de Sitter Hamiltonian theories, the authors construct wavefunctions for extended cosmological spacetimes that include the future wedge and resolve entanglement entropy issues via 3D constrained path

The degrees of freedom of multiway junctions in three dimensional gravity

hep-th · 2025-09-24 · unverdicted · novelty 5.0

n-way junctions in 3D gravity correspond to n-1 coupled Nambu-Goto strings with Monge-Ampère sources whose degrees of freedom survive the tensionless limit, implying matter-like behavior from pure gravity and perfect reflection of wavepackets in the dual CFT.

Dualities in Physics

physics.hist-ph · 2025-09-19 · unverdicted · novelty 2.0

The book provides an entry point into dualities in physics and philosophy by selecting examples and discussing theoretical equivalence, a geometric view of theories, and compatibility with emergence.

Quantum chaos and the holographic principle

quant-ph · 2026-04-14 · unverdicted · novelty 1.0

A review of the chaos-assisted holographic correspondence linking the SYK model to 2D JT gravity, including the need for string theory corrections at fine quantum scales.

  • When Renormalisation Remembers: UV/IR Mixing as an Entanglement Bridge hep-th · 2026-06-15 · unverdicted · none · ref 40 · internal anchor

Introduces the Born-Reciprocal Tensor Network to realize UV/IR mixing as an entanglement bridge in renormalization geometry, with a large-volume limit restoring standard Wilsonian decoupling.

  • Twirled Perfect Tensor Networks: Computationally covariant holographic tensor networks hep-th · 2026-05-22 · unverdicted · none · ref 10 · 2 links · internal anchor

Twirled perfect tensor networks achieve computational covariance, bound complexity by the PLC, and obey a lattice Ryu-Takayanagi formula for arbitrary boundary subregions.

  • Decoding multiway gravitational junctions in AdS in terms of holographic quantum maps hep-th · 2026-04-08 · unverdicted · none · ref 4

Multiway AdS junctions dualize to factorized quantum maps on CFT interfaces, with scattering matrix fixed by junction tension and automorphisms from n-1 stringy modes, independent of background state.

  • Wormholes as red herrings: reflection positivity and the reconstruction of unitary quantum field theories hep-th · 2026-07-01 · unverdicted · none · ref 197 · internal anchor

Unitary QFTs are determined up to unitary isomorphism by closed-manifold partition functions; every reflection-positive partition function comes from a unitary QFT, so spatial wormholes do not break Hilbert-space factorization once the full charged spectrum is included.

  • A missing link: Brane networks and the Cobordism Conjecture hep-th · 2026-05-18 · unverdicted · none · ref 8 · 2 links · internal anchor

Defects for discrete symmetries encoded in bordism groups Ω^ξ_2(BG) and H_2(BG;Z) are described as brane networks rather than isolated objects, extending the Cobordism Conjecture and demonstrated in 4d supergravity from string/M-theory.

  • Bordisms between 9d type IIB supergravities and commutator widths of duality groups hep-th · 2026-05-14 · unverdicted · none · ref 42 · 2 links · internal anchor

Proposes a refinement of the Swampland Cobordism Conjecture for duality groups, arguing that diverging commutator widths necessitate infinitely many duality defects to realize monodromies in 9d supergravity bordisms.

  • Entanglement inequalities, black holes and the architecture of typical states hep-th · 2025-11-04 · unverdicted · none · ref 54 · internal anchor

Typical states in large-N holographic CFTs exhibit UV and IR length scales set by energy and charges, producing factorization that isolates black holes via a corona of saturated entanglement wedges and extends ETH to rotating ensembles.

  • Decoding the string in terms of holographic quantum maps hep-th · 2025-09-16 · unverdicted · none · ref 4 · internal anchor

Stringy modes in 3D gravitational junctions map to factorized H_in to H_out and H_L to H_R quantum maps involving scattering matrices and relative Virasoro automorphisms in the dual CFT.

  • Quantum Darwinism and the quality of Petz recovery quant-ph · 2026-05-07 · unverdicted · none · ref 51

Fidelity of Petz recovery for einselected states from environmental fragments plateaus as fragment size increases in Quantum Darwinism models.
